LG Fashion Week - Robert Graham Event @ The Studio

Moxie's most recent adventures brought us to Toronto Fashion Week on Wednesday for the 10 year celebration of fashion brand Robert Graham.

We had an exclusive look at all the behind the scenes action at the event put on by L'Oreal and LG - hanging out backstage with all the aesthetic professionals and the whirlwind of models running through outfits faster than I could finish my latte.

The event sponsored by Throat Threads Apparel in Burlington was a huge success, and Robert Graham's "X Collection" looked amazing in the unique showcase of live mannequins.

Stay tuned for coverage of the official Robert Graham after party at Brassaii, brought to you by Blazer For Men in Oakville.

A Wedding Worthy Of A CGC Rating!

On July 17th, 2011, we were honoured to capture the wedding day of Jonathan and Alexandra.

Spending the day at Ontario place has never been more fun! Having a bride and groom in tow is pretty much the equivalent to having an all access pass to rides and services there.

The picturesque rooftop venue at Atlantis provided a great area for the ceremony to take place and gave us the perfect backdrop of the Toronto skyline.

With the temperatures hitting record heights, it was an extremely hot day for a wedding, but our bride and groom duo wasn't going to let the heat get to them.

We toured with them all thoughout the theme park and guided them along one of the most grueling wedding shoots that we've ever had to endure - they were nothing short of super!

And of course, although we had a lot to cover in a short amount of time, we weren't going to leave without nailing at least one shot worthy of a comic book cover!

Batman and Catwoman were put to shame!

Mint To Near Mint Engagement

We recently spent an afternoon with Jonathan and Alexandra at Humber Bay Park East just outside of the Toronto core for an engagement shoot. As it turns out, these two graphic novel connoisseurs share a passion that is more rare than the comics they collect.

Most men will verify that it's extremely difficult to find a woman who appreciates the finer things in life - like collecting the original art found within the pages of a well inked graphic novel.

Jonathan knows exactly what he's found and unfortunately for all the gentlemen out there who like to frequent the comic con scene, he's taking her off the market.

Now the only question remaining is if this is going to be a wedding that rivals Cyclops and Jean Grey?!

Stay Tuned...

In Their Element...

On a warm sunny evening in June, we had the chance to capture a couple lovebirds in a location that couldn't have been more perfect.  Andrew and Linda love nature and the outdoors, so shooting their engagement pictures at Burlington's Royal Botanical Gardens was perfect!

With the sun setting as it was, we were able to capture some magical shots that really highlighted the beauty of their surroundings and the love they share.

Tomorrow, Andrew and Linda are getting married and committing their lives to each other forever.  We're praying the Lord will bless your union and we look forward to celebrating your day with you!

David & Heather

On April 23rd, we had the honour of capturing David and Heather's wedding day and what a day it was! With rain in the forecast, we had hoped for even a partly cloudy afternoon that would allow us to capture some beautiful shots.  As it turned out, we were pleasantly surprised and thankful to have blue skies, sunshine and one of the warmest days on record for April!

Getting ready, Heather was the picture of elegance and repose while David waited with confidence and excitement to greet his bride. From start to finish, we had a blast shooting their wedding!

David and Heather, we wish you a lifetime of love and happiness! May the memories of your day always bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart.

Moxie Achieves Platinum

Recently Moxie Media & Design became part of the Canon Professional Network as Platinum members. With a diverse collection of products and accessories from Canon in both photography and videography, we are now, officially, exclusive users of Canon equipment.

All of which is simply a fancy way of saying: we’ve spent a lot of time, energy and money on a wide variety of Canon gear. So much so, that Canon Canada Inc. has recognized us as high-end users and went ahead and showered us with some Canon SWAG.

Over the years in this business there was a lot of debate as to whether or not we should make one brand our staple and leave the others behind, we even tested the waters with some of the other brands to look for differences in quality and usability.

At the end of the day, all our research led us to believe that the differences between Canon and the other major brands was so miniscule that we never really saw any point in getting involved in the war that some photography fanatics still wage to this day.

The point is, we’ve enjoyed using Canon equipment so much over the years that gaining experience or investing in any other brands just wouldn’t make much sense. We’re happy with Canon and if you’re happy with your brand choices as a photographer, that’s all that really matters.

Besides, if you can be happy with the sketchy quality and sub-standard performance of those other brands, there’s not a whole lot on this planet that should anger you!

Sam Roberts Band

Sometimes our job brings about some interesting encounters.  June 4th was such an experience.  While on location filming a press video for John Varvatos, we had the opportunity to meet some of the most humble and well rounded musical artists in the mainstream circuit.

Sam Roberts Band is currently on tour for their new album Collider.  They arrived fresh from a concert the evening before at Massey Hall in Toronto. Visiting the showroom to get a first hand glimpse of the Fall 2011 Varvatos collection, the guys paused from their pursuit of clothes to let us snap some pictures.

If you dig their style and have a chance to check out one of their concerts, GO!  You won't be disappointed!
